Massachusetts State Law requires that all students enrolled at least ¾ time must participate in a student health insurance program or in a health benefit plan with comparable coverage. Minimum benefit levels and services that are required for student health insurance plans are set forth in the Qualifying Student Health Insurance Program (QSHIP) regulation. To ensure compliance with the QSHIP law, all students are automatically billed for the Student Health Insurance Plan. We also offer a second semester policy for those students who do not enter the College until January. The cost for the second semester policy is $518.00. The College of the Holy Cross uses Bollinger, Inc. as our student health insurance provider. To ensure compliance with the QSHIP law, all Holy Cross students are automatically billed for the Student Health Insurance program. If you do not wish to participate in the student health insurance plan, you must complete an online waiver no later than July 15th. But first, please review what is included in the insurance plan provided by Bollinger, Inc. and compare with your current coverage. Not all plans provide adequate coverage such as out-of-state Medicaid plans, Commonwealth Care, certain HMOs, and managed care plans. Be sure to check with your insurance company before waiving coverage.
