Working with Your Sons and DaughtersOur mission is to assist students in the process of career exploration, teach job search skills and provide resources for students seeking internships and first professional positions. Please encourage your sons and daughters to avail themselves of these services. During the first year of college most students are preoccupied with making the academic and social adjustment from high school to college. Questions about life after Holy Cross are generally not a priority for first year students, and that’s okay. Our concern is that students commitment themselves fully to their academic responsibilities and join two recognized student organizations in their first year at Holy Cross thus developing a strong foundation for career success. Sophomore year is an entirely different story; this is the time for full engagement. Even if your son or daughter has established a career goal and is developing the qualifications necessary to enter this field, please encourage him or her to meet with a member of the CPC staff. Early in sophomore year is an ideal time to begin career planning activities. If you have any questions or concerns about the services which are available to your sons and daughters, please email Amy Murphy, Director of Career Planning at amurphy@holycross.edu or call 508-793-3880. Working with Your EmployerMany of the internship and employment opportunities which are available to Holy Cross students are the direct result of referrals from parents of Holy Cross students. If your employer offers summer internships for students and/or employment opportunities for recent college graduates please contact Amy Murphy, Director of Career Planning at amurphy@holycross.edu or call 508-793-3880 to discuss the possibility of recruiting at Holy Cross. |
