2013 Influenza Information

Habits you should do everyday to prevent the flu:

Wash your hands frequently. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Don't share drinking glasses, utensils or towels. Alcohol does not kill germs, drinking games can be a source of spreading respiratory infections. Get enough sleep and eat well to maintain your immune system. WASH YOUR HANDS FREQUENTLY!

Symptoms of the flu include a fever of 100 degrees or more AND a cough and/or sore throat. Other symptoms include congestion, body aches, headache, chills, fatigue, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

All high risk students (history of asthma, pulmonary disease, diabetes, heart disease, liver or kidney disease and autoimmune diseases) with influenza symptoms should make an appt. with their  own physician  or with Health Services at 508-793-2276.
